A closer look at Alias

Merging art with virtual content creation for the new internet.

The gaming and animation industries are at a pivotal juncture. We are now in an era where rapid technological advances, such as generative AI, are causing unrelenting change within digital domains. For 3D artists and world builders, this presents both extraordinary challenges and opportunities. In 2023, around 10,500 jobs in the video game industry were lost. Fast forward to less than two months into 2024, and we've already seen over 8,100 job losses (at the time of writing). As a result, there's a significant pool of highly talented artists and individuals seeking new opportunities.

Enter Alias — a content creator platform and marketplace designed to explore new opportunities by connecting 3D artists with the rapidly rising world of virtual content creation — an industry poised to reach $25B by 2030.

Théâtre D’opéra Spatial" by Jason Allen, an AI-generated piece, won first in the digital category at the Colorado State Fair, sparking controversy and discourse about AI's impact on human creativity (2022).

A new door opens: Virtual faces and places are the new frontier.

The rise of virtual influencers, Vtubers, and worlds have marked a significant shift in online culture and engagement, creating a vibrant, interactive digital landscape. The popularity of virtual creators and identities can be exemplified by instances such as Vtuber Ironmouse taking the win of Content Creator of the Year at the Game Awards 2023. Meanwhile, the success of metaverses and digital realms like Roblox, with its 216 million monthly users, and the surge in digital fashion, highlight the growing significance of digital goods and experiences. Alias taps into this shift by offering tools that empower creators to explore and innovate within these spaces, simplifying content creation with a virtual avatar to just a few clicks and taps.

The Alias marketplace is where content creators and artists converge.

At its core, the Alias marketplace is where artists and creators converge. Here, artists can offer a diverse range of assets, including VRM avatars, digital fashion, accessories, virtual environments, and more. Content creators, in turn, can collect or purchase these assets for use in content and digital experiences.

Our mission is to inspire the next generation of creators, by providing them with the necessary tools and assets for virtual self-expression, storytelling, world-building and virtual content creation.

Innovations in scarcity and trading

Alias introduces a novel approach to 3D asset management and distribution by allowing artists the autonomy to sell unique items individually or at scale. It is also laying the foundation for a user trading system that ensures artists benefit from royalties on future transactions, meaning creativity is rewarded continually.

Empowering artists with ownership and fair earnings

At Alias, we believe in empowering creators through ownership. Artists retain the intellectual property rights to their creations and set key terms of use. Furthermore, we ensure artists receive a minimum of 80% from primary sales of their assets.

Alias is welcoming a new era of digital creativity

Alias is introducing a new era of digital creativity, where the convergence of artists and content creators set the stage for innovation. The platform gives virtual content creators the freedom to create, express, and innovate while connecting artists to new markets and revenue streams that simply had not existed before. Our goal is to unlock creativity and open up unparalleled opportunities for artistic and commercial expression.
